A dozen days before the signing of the contract with CATL, Harbin Travel signed a strategic cooperation agreement with BAK Battery. BAK also officially announced its entry into the electric bicycle field.  

 

In June 2020, Lishen Battery and Xinri Electric Vehicles held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony. According to the cooperation agreement, Xinri Electric Vehicles will purchase more than 50 million lithium batteries for electric two-wheelers from Lishen Battery this year alone.

 

In August of the same year, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Didi Chuxing signed a strategic agreement. Guoxuan Hi-Tech will supply lithium battery packs to motorcycles operated by Didi this year.  

 

In fact, in addition to the above-mentioned power battery giants, it is reported that Yiwei Lithium Energy has also used its cylindrical batteries in the field of electric vehicles in the past to turn to the field of electric bicycles; Far East Battery has also converted its main production of cylindrical 21700 and 18650 cylindrical batteries. The battery is advancing to the small power market such as electric bicycles, and cooperation agreements have been signed with electric bicycle brands such as Mavericks.

In addition, Tianpeng Power Supply, Hengdian DMC and other battery manufacturers that mainly supplied electric vehicles in the past have also shifted their main business to electric bicycles, electric tools and other markets.

BYD enters into the battery business of two-wheelers and tricycles, following the cooperation model with shared platforms, which is currently the most popular model for most foreign battery brands. In 2020, affected by the subsidy decline and the new crown epidemic, the power battery industry chain supply is tight and the demand is insufficient. Small and medium-sized enterprises with weak anti-risk ability may face the risk of bankruptcy, and the leading enterprises rely on their deep technical accumulation and extensive The market layout has limited impact.

 

Since the epidemic last year, stocks such as Yadi and Xinri have also shown to us that the electric bicycle industry is becoming the new favorite of the investment community. The fact that battery giants have entered the market one after another shows that this is a battleground for future military strategists. Especially as new energy vehicles are gradually declining and consumers are beginning to vote with their feet on power batteries, it is not surprising that BYD has entered the field of two-wheelers.

 

In addition to the traditional two-wheeler lithium battery market, in addition to Xingheng Power, lead-acid battery giant Chaowei also actively entered the market last year. The newly launched Jinmanganese series lithium battery at Nanjing Exhibition will not generate heat, puncture, burn, and impact without explosion. , The number of theoretical cycles can reach 3000~10000 times. It is safe and reliable, and the performance advantages such as the first life span quickly hit the red lithium battery circle. It is a strong competitor of foreign giants.  

 

Nowadays, power battery giants have all entered the electric light-duty vehicle market, which originally had many lithium batteries and lead-acid battery companies participating. With the entry of many power battery head enterprises, fierce competition in this market must be inevitable in the future.
